Forgotten 45s – Boy Krazy – That’s What Love Can Do

Finally heard this song again for the first time in a very long time at work when the 90s station finally got enough votes to be blasted in our workplace.  🙂

A lot of people like to imagine the 90s were entirely like 1996 or something.  It was all alternative with grunge and flannels and Alanis Morissette and Celine Dion whining in everyone’s ears.  Not true.  😀  The first chunk of the decade had more than a little residual glam left over from the 80s as pop singers went chasing after Madonna on the charts.

This song, unfortunately, didn’t chase Madonna too far.  This version with 1991 written all over of it wasn’t the one that did well.  Most folks are more familiar with the less-glammy 1993 version that peaked at #18 on the Billboard Hot 100.

These old songs get me thinking though – what if the pop fluff we hear on the stations started sounding all bright like this again.  Hmm….  Maybe when the world finally gets over Dubstep…  😛
