“Quest Hubs Are Dead – Finally!” Yeah That About Sums It Up. :-)

The latest GW2 article that I’ve read, and one that fleshes out the generations of MMOs quite nicely on the side.  🙂

Not a bad description of things, though I’d say within the development of WoW quest hubs were most prominent in Burning Crusade, particularly daily quest hubs like the Isle of Quel’danas.  The rest of the time Blizzard tried to disguise them a bit more but still yeah I’d say quest hubs are a definite defining feature of 2nd generation MMOs.  This whole talk about the evolution of more dynamic worlds in MMOs though gives me some ideas for a podcast that I might take a shot at this weekend.  🙂
